About American SpiralWeld
American SpiralWeld (founded in 1905) is a cast iron pipe manufacturer founded in Birmingham, Alabama. The company has seen much growth over the last 100+ years and that growth has led them to open a new facility in Paris, Texas. American SpiralWeld joined the Paris Community with a formal Ribbon Cutting Ceremony in 2022. Read more about American SpiralWeld’s story here.
The Project
The Paris Economic Development Corporation and The City of Paris were instrumental factors in American’s decision to select Paris, Texas as their southwest headquarters. DC Media maintains a strong working relationship with both the PEDC and the City of Paris (which eventually led us to be the Brand Managers in the Paris Branding Initiative Project). When American began the planning of their Ribbon Cutting, we were asked by American and PEDC to capture the day.
This outdoor event included 150+ attendees, food, drinks and speeches from esteemed guest.
The Process
Our team arrived the day before the event to map out the video, camera placements and game plan covering the event. We decided to include a two camera person video team and one photographer. As the morning began, all three cameras made their way through the parking lot, covered tent area and roamed the crowd. Throughout speeches, we positioned one stationery camera on the stage with the other two cameras focusing on key moments in different areas such as speech highlights, applauses and recognitions.
The Product
The project resulted in three primary products: the Ribbon-Cutting Recap, a testimonial video about the Paris EDC, and a full-coverage photo gallery.

With two photographers on-site, we were able to deliver a full gallery for the PEDC as well as the client, American SpiralWeld.
