About Blueblood British Gundogs
Blueblood’s mission is to equip the sporting family with a healthy and confident British Labrador pup that will become a beloved family member and a cherished companion in the field. Using proven genetics, they strive to raise calm and quiet puppies in the home yet bold and biddable (easy to train) in the field.
The Project
Blueblood British Gundogs is owned and operated by Grant Chappel. As a family-owned business, you’ll see involvement from his wife, Ashley, and their son.
Grant approached our team in 2019 with a vision to open Blueblood British Gundogs and was looking for a complete Business Starter Pack. This included company branding, a brand guide package, website, and photography.
With five Dams (Lune, Rue, Stella, Kitty and June) and award-winning Sire, Int. FTCH Drumgoose Warlord “Murph”, Grant wanted a brand that highlighted the importance of reputable bloodlines and quality training.
The Process
The brand was to be created around Murph, arguably the most accomplished dog ever to set foot on American soil. We started with font pairings, tones, and colors. We included a monochromatic package. However, the brand was based on American Red, White, and Blue.
Photography
When it came time for the photoshoot it’s hard to say who was more excited. While our name is DeadCat, we are absolutely animal lovers and we couldn’t wait to get out there with Grant and the pack to see them in action.
True to his mission, these dogs were so impressive! We spent one full day with Grant and the Dams to capture them as working dogs. They were eager to get to work and we captured every angle of them retrieving as well as dog headshots.
Day two of the photoshoot was all about the man himself… Murph that is. We went to a new location with two ponds and various landscape backdrops such as open field and a wood area filled with beautiful pine trees.
Murph wasn’t afraid to show-out and we had a great day capturing all the tricks, commands and skills he’s best known for around the world. Did we mention Murph is an Irish Retriever Champion?
The Product
Working with Grant was a breeze, and we appreciated his trust and confidence in our team. Grant knew what he was looking for but allowed for creative freedom and input from our team along the way. To date, his website is still one of our showcase items, and his Google performance has continued to grow. View his website here.
