Paris Fire Dept. Lip-Sync Challenge

About the 2018 Lip-Sync Challenge

In 2018, a social media trend set off with police departments all over the country facing off in a good ole lip sync challenge.

Eventually, as nominations spread like wild-fire (no pun intended), the challenge made it’s way to Paris, Texas.

The Project

In 2018, when the craze of lip-sync battles were making the rounds, DeadCat wasn’t even a thought!

However, Lea and Broadway had been collaborating on various passion projects and community themed videos and were both asked to help construct a lip-sync video that would top them all. They joined together (along with local videographer and friend, Jeff Davis) to make one for the books.

The three filmmakers weren’t likely to settle for mediocre… and it paid off.

The trio met with the Paris Fire Department, expressing that if they wanted to do the challenge then everyone must agree to do it right. It was an all-in vote YES and the planning commenced.

THE Process

First up, we didn’t want a typical opener. We wanted something different than what had been done before, and idea arose to enter the video with a dream sequence which would allow multiple songs and “stars” to show off their talents in the nearly 5-minute film.

Act I: Wrecking Ball (by Miley Cyrus) starring Chase Reynolds, Dreyton McCarthy and Darren Lane
