“Broadway will say we met in the summer of 2007 on the Great Wall of China,” Kimmy laughs. “We were on a missions trip, and that’s where our relationship began, but we didn’t pursue anything until we were back in Colorado – where we were married and lived for almost a year. We started dating that fall, were engaged just after Christmas, and married on May 17, 2008.
In the winter of 2009, we moved to Paris, where Broadway is from.” Broadway graduated from North Lamar in 2000. After years of building his craft, he launched iamBroadway here in Paris in 2016. With iamBroadway, he is able to provide local businesses with handcrafted social media content and fulfill other creative needs. He enjoys working with a variety of media, such as videography, graphics, photography, and filmmaking. He is a self-taught designer and is always looking to learn new skills, seeking fresh inspiration in art and everyday life. This last fall, he started a podcast – Paris Texas a Podcast – which you can find on your favorite podcasting app. He also works part-time for Paris. Kimmy graduated from the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs with a degree in communication. She is a full-time mommy to her three boys (sometimes four, counting Broadway), helps with the administrative side of iamBroadway, and also works part-time for cfParis.
“We attend church at cfParis and love the community of friends we have found there,” says Kimmy. Broadway’s not really into sports, but Kimmy makes sure everyone stays outfitted in Denver Bronco gear. “We love our community, and that is what iamBroadway is founded on: a love for Paris,” explains Broadway. Broadway is an ambassador with the Lamar County Chamber of Commerce and a Paris Downtown Association member. He is also involved with some local organizations including The Grand Theater Restoration Board.
Liam, age 8, is in second grade at Everett Elementary. He loves to read, learn about science, and make YouTube videos. He has a YouTube channel with over 85 videos he and his dad have made all over Paris. (iamLiamBroadway) Emmett, age 6, is in kindergarten at Higgins Elementary. “He loves to make us laugh and keep us on our toes,” says Kimmy. He loves space and wants to be an astronaut when he grows up.
Finley (or Finn), three months old, is the newest addition. “He is the sweetest and the perfect addition to our family,” Kimmy smiles.
The family lives in Turtle Creek in Reno and has lived there for nine and a half years. “We moved here because we loved the proximity to Paris and the neighborhood’s family atmosphere,” says Broadway. “One thing we love about Turtle Creek, and our house especially, is that we live right next to the Reno Rail Trail, part of the Trail de Paris. It’s so nice to be able to walk out of our garage and hop on the trail for a bike ride or walk. We love our neighbors, and we’re extremely lucky that Kim’s parents moved down here from Colorado almost five years ago and live right behind us in the same neighborhood. The boys love walking over to Grandma and Grandpa’s house to get gummy worms,” he laughs. “We love Paris and are lucky to raise our kids and grow our business here,” the two agree.
