And for your next question…
Why did we name our company after a dead animal?
We decided to launch a new business in 2019, and like any new business owner… the first step was to figure out what it would be called. We had a few ideas that we liked, but we’re finding it difficult to agree on a name that just “fit”. We discussed many options, and they were either already taken, or one of us liked it, and the other didn’t.
One day, Broadway sent a random text with a few ideas… one of those being “DeadCat”.
It stood out immediately, and Lea responded, “Tell me more about DeadCat.”
We both knew the term, as it’s fairly common in our industry, and from there the brand vision came to life. We debated the pros and cons of naming our business after a dead animal and we knew the marketing challenges that would come. Being a marketing agency, we decided to take on the challenge.
Things we wanted in our brand:
• Brand-ability
• Personification (A mascot, if you will)
• A sleek look, with a cheeky edge
• Dad Jokes
• Simplistic look
• Expandability
• An unforgettable elevator pitch
DeadCat checked all the boxes.
A DeadCat is known for cutting the noise and making your message clear in our industry. We felt this perfectly explained our mission as a company and with that, DeadCat was born.
Lastly, you should know that we have no hard feelings towards cats.
